April 6.  A Note on Trash Collection at the Compactor Yard – Opening Weekend Update

The GM would like to take a moment to thank everyone for making Opening Weekend such a strong kickoff to the season. As with any busy start, a few bumps in the road are expected, and we want to address one of them openly.

River Bend is aware of the recent overflow at the compactor yard. The issue was caused by a missed pickup from our trash company last week, which unfortunately coincided with a large number of guests cleaning out their lots. This surge quickly filled the roll-away containers.

Please rest assured—RBMC has been in contact with the trash service provider and have emphasized the importance of timely pickups moving forward. The River Bend maintenance team is keeping a close eye on the area and will escalate any concerns directly to our regional representative to ensure they’re addressed promptly.

March 21.  The compactor yard will be open when the park opens on March 28th and is cleaned up and in good condition. The same rules will be in force concerning dumping. Household trash in the compactor, the cost of which is included in the dues, dumpsters are available for larger items construction debris etc. and a charge will apply. A list of prohibited items is posted in the office and on a sign outside the yard.

1) The compactor: All bagged and household trash should be placed in the compactor. Disposal of this trash is covered by the dues. Using the compactor allows this trash to be compressed and hauled away in a much more efficient and economical manner. When the hopper becomes full maintenance and security share the responsibility for operating it. Appliances, metal, construction debris, etc. are not permitted in the compactor.

2) Open top dumpsters: Open tops are provided for use for debris that cannot go into the compactor. A charge is levied for use of the open tops. Please refrain from throwing household garbage in these dumpsters unless the compactor is full or closed for service or being dumped. If a dumpster is full to the top edge, please do not continue to overfill it, instead move to a different dumpster. Currently there are four available but that will be reduced to two now that the holiday season is behind us. Throwing bags or other refuse on the ground is not acceptable.

The following items are not allowed in the TRASH YARD or OPEN TOPS:
  • TVs
  • Refrigerators
  • Wheels
  • Tires
  • Batteries
  • Propane tanks

Fines for violations range from $25 to $500, plus a disposal fee. Fines may change. For questions, contact the General Manager.
