Water Update & Pool Notice – June 28, 2025 (1:30 PM)
We’re happy to report that the well pump has officially been replaced, and water is now being restored throughout the entire park. Thank you to everyone for your patience during this critical repair process.
Please Note: A BOIL WATER ADVISORY is in effect until further notice. This is a standard precaution following any major water service disruption. We’ll update you as soon as it is lifted.
Pool Update:
The pool will remain closed today, Saturday, June 28, and will reopen Sunday, June 29, during normal operating hours. We understand the timing may be inconvenient, but our top priority is ensuring the water tower is filled first before any non-essential water use. Additionally, our lifeguards had already been given the day off due to the original repair timeline.
The Camp Store is now open.
Thank you again for your continued patience and understanding as we work to fully restore safe, reliable service to the park.
Burn Ban Lifted
Effective 2:00 PM on June 28, 2025, the burn ban has been officially lifted. Campfires, fire pits, and other approved open burning are now allowed once again. Please continue to use caution and good judgment when enjoying your fires, and always have water or an extinguisher nearby. Thank you for your cooperation during the ban!

June 25. WELL EMERGENCY – IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED
(1:30 PM) Attention All Members:
River Bend is currently experiencing a critical failure with the RBMC primary water well.
What’s Happening:
-
The well normally pumps 170 gallons per minute.
-
It is now producing only 50 gallons per minute.
-
Heavy sediment and debris are being pulled into the system.
Why This Is Serious:
-
This output is NOT enough to support daily water needs or refill the water tower.
-
If the water tower drops to 20 feet, we will be forced to shut down the park’s entire water system.
What We’re Doing:
-
RBMC has contacted multiple emergency well service companies for immediate assistance.
-
RBMC is working urgently to schedule an emergency response.
What YOU Must Do:
-
Conserve water immediately.
-
Avoid all non-essential water use (e.g., lawn watering, long showers, washing vehicles).
-
Report any leaks or unusual water usage to management ASAP.
Please take this situation seriously. Your cooperation is critical.
We will provide updates HERE as soon as we receive further information.
Thank you for your attention and immediate action.

Well Pump Update – Temporary Water Shutdown
Date: Thursday, June 26th
Time: Beginning at approximately 8:00 AM
River Bend wants to inform all members and guests that water service to the entire park will be shut off starting at 8:00 AM tomorrow morning (Thursday, June 26th). This is necessary so that our well contractor can pull the existing well pump and diagnose the ongoing issue.
They will arrive prepared with potential replacement pumps in case immediate repairs can be made on-site. RBMC is hopeful for a quick resolution, but they appreciate your understanding and patience during this process.
Please make any necessary preparations tonight, such as storing water for personal use.
We will provide updates HERE as soon as we receive further information
Thank you for your cooperation.

Summary – Water Service & Pool Closure Update:
Riverbend Members:
The replacement well pump won’t be available until late Friday afternoon.
The board has approved extra costs for Saturday installation, as the company cannot expedite sooner.
Water tower cannot be filled by tanker trucks due to system design and high demand — this option is not feasible.
The current well pump, estimated to be 30+ years old, suddenly dropped from 170 GPM to 50 GPM, making it unable to meet park needs.
The pool must remain closed under WV law when bathhouses are closed.
