Reckless Driving

Driving responsibly should be second nature. At River Bend, we take safety seriously, and we expect the same from those behind the wheel. Reckless driving has no place in our Park, and with escalating fines for those who disregard the rules, RBMC hopes to encourage safer driving practices for everyone. Let’s work together to make the roads safer for all—because safety truly is our top priority.

Aggressive driving involves unsafe and potentially dangerous behaviors behind the wheel, such as speeding, tailgating, or making unsafe lane changes, often with the intent to cause harm or intimidate other drivers.

Prioritizing Safety: Reckless Driving and Escalating Penalties

At River Bend, we believe that safety is non-negotiable. The importance of keeping everyone—drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and cyclists—safe cannot be overstated. In an effort to reduce accidents and prevent reckless driving, our security team has established a zero-tolerance policy for aggressive and dangerous driving behaviors.

What is Reckless Driving?

Reckless driving refers to "aggressive driving that consists of driving a vehicle with willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property." This means that anyone operating a vehicle without regard for the potential harm it may cause to themselves or others is considered to be driving recklessly.

It’s important to note that reckless driving doesn’t just put other people at risk; it also endangers the safety of the driver. Speeding, tailgating, weaving in and out of traffic, and other aggressive driving behaviors are all considered reckless and are not tolerated.

Penalties for Reckless Driving

Our policy is clear: safety comes first. To reinforce this commitment, we’ve introduced escalating fines for anyone caught engaging in reckless driving behavior. The penalties are as follows:

First offense: $300

Second offense: $600

Third offense: $900

Fourth offense: $1,200

These fines are designed not only to discourage reckless driving but also to send a strong message about the seriousness of the matter. We understand that driving can be frustrating at times, but nothing is more important than the well-being of everyone at River Bend.

Why We Have These Measures

The main goal of these penalties is to promote safe driving and reduce preventable accidents. Driving recklessly isn’t just a traffic violation; it’s a member safety issue. Whether it’s speeding through an intersection, running stop signs, or engaging in road rage, aggressive driving puts everyone in danger. The River Bend security team's role is to ensure that these unsafe behaviors are curbed before they lead to accidents.

River Bend wants everyone to feel safe and secure while at the Park, and these measures are just one way of making sure that happens. The RBMC commitment to safety isn’t just about preventing crashes—it's about fostering a culture where responsible driving is the norm, not the exception.
