Reporting Thefts At River Bend

Important Update for River Bend Lot Owners: Reporting Thefts

Thefts within our community
While security will actively investigate these incidents, it's crucial that all lot owners understand the reporting process and the actions RBMC can take together.

The Importance of Reporting
It has been noted that in the past only a few affected lot owners have submitted official reports regarding these thefts. Reporting any theft or suspicious activity to our Security Department is essential. The RBMC Security Supervisor, is dedicated to aggregating this data, which helps identify patterns or specific areas that may be targeted.

In addition to notifying security, all lot owners are encouraged to report thefts directly to the Sheriff's Department. This is a vital step, as Security can only provide reports and support to the Board and General Manager. However, please remember that Security does not have the authority to arrest, prosecute, or criminally charge anyone for incidents occurring on private property.

Understanding RBMC Limitations
It's important to clarify what Security can and cannot do. While they can document incidents and share this information with the Board, they do not have jurisdiction over actions taken against lot owners. The Board can restrict access to common areas for those who violate our community standards and can issue a No Trespass Order for non-lot owners on common grounds. However, this process requires thorough investigation and accurate information to present a solid case to the Board.

It may sometimes seem like the investigative process is slow, but please rest assured that Security, the Board, and General Manager take theft and vandalism very seriously. Management is committed to ensuring the safety and security of our community.

Members Role in Enhancing Security
To enhance the security of River Bend, all lot owners encouraged to remain vigilant and proactive. If members experience or witness any suspicious behavior or theft, please report it immediately to both Security and the Sheriff's Department. Your cooperation is essential in helping us maintain a safe and secure environment for everyone.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and for your continued support in keeping River Bend a safe community.
